Mirage 2000 gets a new lease of life
Article Abstract:
New orders for Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 fighter aircraft from Greece and the United Arab Emirates have provided the French aircraft industry with a lightweight single-engined multirole fighter. The Mirage 2000-5 was developed by Dassault in 1986 as an upgrade for the earlier Mirage 2000C/B models. Its key features include the RDY radar and Sextant pilot-vehicle interface from Thomson-CSF and thrust-vectoring MICA family of radar- and infrared-guided medium-range air-to-air missiles from Matra BAe Dynamics.
