Gone Dutch: Barings
Article Abstract:
Barings has been bought by Dutch group ING and has resumed trading, even though it lost more than $1 billion at the hand of Singapore-based trader Nicholas Leeson. ING did not buy Barings' holding company, which may be liquidated. Possible explanations for the disastrous trading are explored.
