Government plans to allow longer leases for foreigners
Article Abstract:
Thailand plans to allow foreigners own long-term leases on land in keeping with the government's efforts to reawaken its stagnating property industry while maintaining government ownership, according to Thai Finance Minister Tarrin Nimmanahaeminda. Thailand will expand the capability of foreign banks in the country to offer trade financing to financially-ailing Thai exporters, Nimmanahaeminda added. The newest proposed initiatives come as the country faces more economic pummelling.
