'Grand Coalition' in Germany falls into some doubt
Article Abstract:
Germany's government is in disarray as a bipartison coalition is falling apart giving rise to speculation that there may be a second election. Conservative leader Edmund Stoiber has resigned the Christian Democratic Union and oppostion leader Franz Muntefering is to resign the Social Democrats. The two parties are in controversy over the economic policy as the German economy is stagnating, Angela Merkel wants sweeping spending cuts and Edmund Stoiber was against cuts that would effect the poor.

German outlook worsens in latest economic survey
Article Abstract:
Economic confidence in Germany has declined to -5.6 in August from +15.1 in July on the ZEW Index. Analysts expect the German economy to slow by early 2007. Currently, the economy in both Germany and Europe is healthy and growing.
