Green about the ears, not the policy
Article Abstract:
German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder has ruled that nuclear waste reprocessing will not now be banned from the beginning of 2000, as Green Environment Minister Jurgen Trittin had wanted and as Schroder had initially agreed. This issue has created considerable tension between the Social Democrats and the Greens, but will not tear their coalition government apart. The Social Democrats and the Greens have been performing reasonably well in opinion polls so far, despite initial difficulties.
