Gtech to be acquired by operator of Italy's lottery for $4.6 billion

With the acquisition of Rhode Island-based GTECH Holdings Corp. by Italian lottery company Lottomatica S.p.A., the two companies will be forming a combined multinational enterprise with revenues estimated at $1.9 billion. GTECH, which is the world's largest operator of computerized lotteries, will run the new company from headquarters in Rome, Italy.
