Guarding vital trade secrets
Article Abstract:
Non-compete agreements are most commonly used by companies to protect trade secrets. To be effective, however, a company should have a history of active efforts in maintaining trade secrets. Employees should also be made aware by their employers that they are serious in implementing non- compete agreements. Companies are also advised to immediately inform competitors that a former employee they have hired is subject to a non- compete agreement.

Preparing for disasters
Article Abstract:
Companies can resort to either of two measures to ameliorate or possibly avoid natural and man-made disasters including fires, floods, earthquakes and tornados. They made either strengthen their existing facilities or opt to construct, acquire or rent facilities in locations that are out of harm's way. The first step, however, in preparing for unexpected disasters, is to select a good employee to head a crisis committee composed of a manager from each major department. The committee will develop plans to handle each potential catastrophe.
