Article Abstract:
Architectural firm YRM has designed a new block for Whitefield Schools and Centre in Walthamstow, London, England, a school for children with physical and learning difficulties. Work began on site in Feb 1997, and the block was occupied in summer 1998. Every space is being put to full use, and there are few signs of wear. The classrooms and other internal spaces are made from concrete blockwork on a concrete frame, with acoustic ceiling panels reducing noise levels.
