Japanese baseball tends to be more formulaic and dull than the American version of the game. Many young Japanese have been become disenchanted with the game because the coaching is severe and emphasizes repetitive drills and discipline, rather than the joys of the game.

Suicide rates for women are dropping while they are rising for men. This may be because men who find themselves unemployed may become suicidal, while women do not get as depressed as a result. Methodology may have an effect on the difference also.
