Musicals are struggling to provide theater-goers with anything creative or well directed. A revival of the American musical 'Carousel' is the only successful production among an odd assortment of revivals or dull imports. Ken Russell's 'Princess Ida' has achieved a new level in 'tastelessness.'

A park in central London is attracting increasing numbers of homeless persons and the wrath of nearby residents. The government has launched a three-year Rough Sleepers Initiative to address the problem that will force the homeless to leave the park.
