Heinz to put ketchup business into one global account
Article Abstract:
H.J. Heinz will consolidate its ketchup business into one advertising and brand-image account worldwide valued at up to $50 million. Two advertising agencies, Leo Burnett Co. and Omnicom Group's TBWA Chiat/Day, which are presently handling Heinz's other products' accounts, are competing for the ketchup business. Heinz CEO William Johnson said the consolidation is intended to provide a consistent worldwide image for Heinz ketchup similar to what is being done by Coca Cola and McDonalds. In Jan. 1998, Heinz consolidated its European ad business with Euro RSCG Worldwide in London, United Kingdom.
