A survey of large investors reveals that the institutional investment community is optimistic about prospects in 1993 for Japanese stocks, and the Nikkei average is trending upward. Most of the ten responding firms hold strong positions in European and US stocks, also.

Four respondents to a poll of investment advisers have removed French investments from their equity portfolios. French investments are still good prospects for several reasons. Corporate profits in France are expected to increase 20% during 1992.

A survey of portfolio managers has shown very little change in strategy over the second quarter of 1993. Equities and bonds are being held in roughly the same proportion, although Japanese and European equities have been gaining momentum.
