Herring grab storm

Norway has surprised the North Atlantic pelagic fishing industry by setting its own quota for Atlanto-Scandian herring, a move that has the approval of the European Union. The move is a violation of the original 1996 agreement and the ICS recommendations.

EU fines France 57 million euros

France has been slammed a fine of 57,761,250 million euros for failing to comply with common fisheries policies of European Union. These rules were framed in 1991 for controlling immature fish marketing in the region.

'Event of the decade' - licence aggregation now without loss
