Article Abstract:

The Hungarian company Bakony M vek Rt has won a Ft 1.5bn contract from Suzuki and General Motors for the delivery of parts for the new compact car to be produced by the two companies from year 2000. The deliveries will comprise windscreen wipers and other parts. Thus Bakony M vek will be trebling its deliveries to Suzuki. In order to expand production in the next 2-3 years, Bakony M vek is to carry out a capital increase of Ft 1bn. Bakony M vek expects a turnover of Ft 7bn in 1998 and Ft 10bn in 1999, up from Ft 5.5bn in 1997. Exports contribute about 80% to sales. Bakony M vek's main products are windscreen wiper systems, ignition distributors and ignition switches. It will be merged with another Bankar group company, MMG Automatika Rt, a producer of instrument boards.

Article Abstract:

The Ministry of Construction in Vietnam is looking of investors to expand cement capacity. Although Vietnam is able to cover cement demand by local production, the country is to set up new capacity for exports. The Ministry plans to set up six cement plants with a capacity of 1.4mn tons each, requiring investment of US$ 240mn-250mn each. It also plans to set up a special cement plant in Quang Ninh province. The plant is to have a capacity of 200,000 tpa and it requires an investment of US$ 50mn.
