Fiscal first-half results for Japan's Hitachi Ltd. improved, with net loss decreasing from 78.09 bil yen to 13.06 bil yen fostered by profitability in power systems, logistics services, and electronic devices. Fiscal second-quarter results for Japanese consumer electronics firm Pioneer Corp. showed a net loss of 2.4 bil yen, due primarily to weak demand in its plasma display panel business.
