The General Permitted Development Order (GPDO), which has become obscure and complex, is to be reformed by the UK government in order to speed up, simplify and change the culture of planning. There would be a slew of customer aids and guides and step-by-step Internet form filling, integration of planning with building regulations and self-certification by qualified professionals.
