Convenience retail Asia's IPO may disappoint its parent
Article Abstract:
Analysts and investors remain skeptical of Convenience Retail Asia's (CRA) initial public offering despite the company's plan to operate 170 conveinence stores within Hong Kong as well as plans to open 100 stores in China by the end of 2003. Li and Fung, CRA's parent company, may be disappointed with the initial public offering's outcome as investors question Hong Kong's need for so many convenience stores as well as whether CRA will succeed in a Chinese market where competitors are firmly established.
