Hong Kong has the potential for an economic growth due to the recent developments in its political structure. Economists express confidence in the nation's economy based on studies which showed this trend. Employment rate increased from 1.2% in 1995 to 1.9% in 1996. Another factor which may contribute to its growth is the increasing number of skilled and educated workers. The new housing regulation also allows affordable housing for both private and public housing developments.

State unveils plans to merge, modernize banking sector
