The Spanish market for clothing & footwear
Article Abstract:
The retail market for clothing and footwear in Spain was examined from 1995 to 1998 by dividing it into five sectors, namely, men's, women's and children's clothing, footwear and accessories. Findings reveal that womenswear and footwear had the highest growth in 1998 which resulted from the fact that more women were entering the job market and needed more expensive shoes and clothes. Consumer confidence reached record highs due to low inflation and a strong economy.
