Article Abstract:
The refurbishment of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, England, took 44 months to complete. The new building has been given a larger foyer space known as the Floral Hall, new practice rooms for the ballet dancers and new accommodation for many of the backroom staff. The auditorium has been renovated but not changed for its orignal design from 1858. The work cost 140,000,000 pounds sterling. The outside of the building which faces Covent Garden has not been altered. The architects for the new work on teh building were Dixon Jones BDP.

Home Office comforts
Article Abstract:
Terry Farrell's project on Home Office across the river in Marsham Street is similar to the project that transformed a regular commercial office building into one of London's most prominent Post-Modernist that is the M16 headquarters at Vauxhall Cross. The project of 75,000-meter square office development is Farrell's largest completed project in London that has its roots in a Farrell masterplan commissioned by British Land in 1991.

The life and works of the architect Philip Johnson, whose famous work- Glass House building at New Canaan, near New York City, reflects a distinctive philosophy of place and materials, is highlighted. It is stated that he was a stylish to the core, both personally and professionally.
