How Ireland's Bula bought Russian oil company Aki-Otyr
Article Abstract:
Irish-based exploration company Bula Resources (Holdings) has announced the purchase of Aki-Otyr, a Russian oil concern with proven and probable reserves of 500 million barrels. The move will transform Bula from a small exploration operation to a production and operating concern with extensive reserves in Western Siberia. It has become the first fully listed company to undertake a direct equity acquisition in the Russian oil industry, but is likely to be followed by many others.
