Discipline and flexibility will win the day
Article Abstract:
Providers of mezzanine finance to management buyouts are beginning to look more closely at opportunities in continental Europe. This allows them to become less reliant on the UK buyout market, to boost deal flow and to move away from the cyclical UK economy. UK private equity providers have traditionally been cautious about developing operations in continental Europe, and mezzanine providers have also been very careful to link with extremely able local equity partners.

A cocktail of financing products
Article Abstract:
The need for banks to focus on money transmission and transactional processes has led to the development of invoice finance, especially in the buyout market. Invoice finance is the process of advancing money on the strength of debt owing to a firm through invoice payment. Invoice discounters are prepared to take larger risks than normal banks by advancing a higher proportion of invoice value, although the cost may be higher to the company involved.
