A-I CLOSE TO MAJOR MAINTENANCE DEAL
Article Abstract:
Air-India (A-I) is likely to sign a third-party maintenance deal with C-S Aviation Services (CAS), Miami. CAS is part of the Chatterjee-Soros group. A-I is likely to earn Rs60 crore in 10 years of contract from servicing and overhauling of aircraft engines. It has quoted $35 per man-hour of work which is the lowest in the industry. It is seeking approval from Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), which is necessary for servicing aircraft engines. (rk)

NEW A-I DIRECTORS APPOINTED
Article Abstract:
Mr S Mukherjee has been appointed as the commercial director of Air-India after the retirement of Mr HS Uberoi. Mr Mukherjee was previously the director of in-flight services and also held the additional charge of managing director of the Hotel Corporation of India. Mr Jitendra Bhargava, who was director, public relations and national marketing division, has been appointed as the new in-flight services director. (khr)
