IBM's last tangle in Argentina
Article Abstract:
The image of computer concern IBM in Argentina has been badly damaged by claims that its local unit paid $37 million in bribes in 1993 to obtain a $250 million contract to supply Banco de la Nacion with a computer network. The company has always claimed that its headquarters was not aware of the details of this contract. It was forced to reach an out-of-court settlement with Banco de la Nacion, returning half of the $82 million it had received so far. IBM will now no longer seek government contracts in Argentina, and will also not bid for any state contracts in other Latin American countries in which it would be the only bidder.

Ban cyberspace
Article Abstract:
Computer users have coined phrases and terms in an attempt to simplify the use of computers but they have really complicated things further by making it difficult for a novice to understand the use of computers. It would be better if jargons were removed altogether in favor of a using words that mean the items that they are referring to and not just a representative. The transition would be necessary if the use of computers is sought to be simplified.
