YARDLEY'S PRECARIOUS POSITION NOT TO AFFECT SALES IN INDIA

Yardley and Company Ltd of the UK, which was put into administrative receivership on August 26, 1998, has said that the sales of its Indian licencee, Bond Street Perfumes & Cosmetics Pvt Ltd, will not be affected by its position. It has said that it will try to ensure that supplies and shipments continue as before. Yardley has been placed under the receivership of KPMG, a global consultancy firm. Bond Street has been selling the Yardley of London range of cosmetics in India for the last five years. (khr)

Silicon Graphics Systems (India) Ltd (SGI) and the Solutions and Systems Integration division of Wipro Infotech are planning a marketing tie-up for MineSet, an integrated software suite for data mining and data visualisation. The tie-up will not be exclusive as other partners of SGI like Tata Elxsi and Crompton Greaves can also offer the software as part of their solutions. (khr)
