KEMNA PLANS TO SET UP ASSEMBLY UNIT NEAR BANGALORE
Article Abstract:
Kemna Electronics (KE) of Germany is likely to set up a laser machinery assembly facility near Bangalore. The project is estimated to cost $20-35 million. The Government of Karnataka is likely to allot land at Whitefield for the plant. The investment will come from internal accruals. KE has projected a turnover of Rs85 crore in the first year of its operations. KE produces laser diode module, line generator, lens systems, green and red positioning lasers used in textiles, stone, marble and construction industries. (rk)

Oriflame of Sweden plans to set up a manufacturing unit in Bangalore. The company produces natural cosmetics. It will invest through its subsidiary, Oriflame India Pvt Ltd. Oriflame currently sells premium products targeted at the affluent segment in India. It markets around 120 products. It plans to expand its product range to 200 products. It proposes to launch low priced products for the middle and lower classes. (rk)
