New 'neurointensive' care treatments have been developed and used by Dr. Stephan A. Mayer, Director of Columbia University's Medical Centre. The new medical techniques include the use of Arctic Sun pads filled with cold water to lower the patients temperature combined with the use of Bair Hugger blankets that blow heat on the feet and legs to prevent shivering. One of the most miraculous cases is the recovery of Dr. Mark Ragucci.
