Article Abstract:
Siemens has acquired Argon Networks and Castle Networks, while Alcatel has acquired Assured Access and Xylan. The internet and other developments have led to an expansion of the data communications markets. Consumers want systems that are totally reliable, which is likely to mean that companies that can assemble the network as a whole are likely to perform well. Cisco Systems dominates the corporate data market and is one of four remaining data networking companies that are still publicly traded.
