Insurers set payour on Holocaust

Holocaust victims who never received payment for prewar life insurance policies will be paid between $1 billion and $4 billion by a number of European insurers, including AXA SA, Winterthur and Zurich Financial Services, Insurers Allianz AG, and AXA Assicurazioni Generali SpA. The agreement was reached through the mediation of an international commission led by Lawrence Eagleburger, the former US Secretary of State.

Benetton unveils new dividend plan providing for big boost in payouts
Article Abstract:
Benetton SpA announced that it is making a major increase in its dividend payout for the 1999 year and for future years. The company said it would pay a 165 lire per share (8.5 European cents) extraordinary dividend. This is akin to approximately 300 billion lire payout. The year 2000 dividend payout could reach as much as 350 billion lire.
