Internet retailers must localize to compete
Article Abstract:
Intense competition on the web is triggered by the marked increase in the number of users, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Singapore National Computer Board. Results demonstrated that purchases over the Internet have soared with 20% of those who have not yet transacted business over the Internet expressing their intention to do so in the next six months. Therefore, web sites should resort to using several marketing tools such as personalizing sites to fit individual needs, localization, user interface adaptation and language translation.
