Intellectual property rights strengthened in South America
Article Abstract:
Paraguay is poised to improve protection for patents, trademarks and copyrights as the country and the US have concluded the Memorandum of Understanding and Enforcement Action Plan, a comprehensive intellectual property rights agreement. The agreement also calls for Paraguay to implement measures against counterfeiting and piracy. Meanwhile, the government of Argentina has made revision on its old copyright statute by including software on its intellectual property protection.
