Interbank rates remain lofty despite fund plan

European money market tensions seem unaffected despite efforts by the European Central Bank, the US Federal Reserve Board, and other central banks to put more funds into the worldwide banking system. The ECB announced it will inject up to $20 bil in dollar-denominated funds to maintain liquidity in the euro zone. However, interbank offered rates remain at just under 5%.

GE considers bid for Dutch bank NIB
