International economy; Japanese share prices: effects of the fall
Article Abstract:
Japanese share prices are lower by 50% from their 1989 high. This is likely to affect companies' abilities to borrow. If the Japanese recession continues, their exports will be affected which will be noticed throughout the world, particularly in Asian economies. Japanese banks lend a large proportion of world loans, but they have already cut back in this area.
