Israel's choice
Article Abstract:
Israel is holding elections, and there are reasons for not trusting prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu to carry out further negotiations with the Palestinians, judging by his poor record. There is a danger that conflict could increase as a result of Palestinians becoming impatient about delays in reaching a settlement with Israel. Labor's Ehud Barak could be elected prime minister. He would be constrained by a coalition, but could still achieve progress in reaching a settlement with the Palestinians.
