Article Abstract:

Just in Time (JIT) inventory systems is increasingly being adopted as an integral component of company quality programs in the US. They ensure that goods of all kinds are brought to the right place at the right time to maximize rationalization and efficiency and cover every area of the manufaturing process. JIT systems help keep inventories at appropriate levels at all times. To achieve this, JIT makes extensive use of several types of information technology, logistics software and well-planned production and transportation systems.

The EC is carefully considering the trade implications of policies calling for airline deregulation in their region. Despite the increased activity in international trade, EC countries are wary of initiating competition and free pricing. As US and European airline carriers continue to debate on cabotage rights, the EC has decided to allow their respective countries to undertake individual bilateral agreements regarding airline issues.
