Iterative improvement methods for a multiperiod network design problem
Article Abstract:
Generic Local Improvement Template (GLIT), a new auto-calibrating local search algorithm, unquestionably outperforms competitive methodologies, particularly when GLIT is combined with Genetic algorithms. It was also shown that the hybrid algorithms Genetic/Tabu, Genetic/Simulated Annealing and Genetic/GLIT all outdo both complete Genetic and complete local search algorithms.

New modelling approaches for the design of local access transport area networks
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the development of a model which uses a reformulation-linearization technique in the testing of the model. The model is used for the design of a transport and local access area.
