Article Abstract:

Jihostroj (Velesin, Czech Republic), manufacturer of hydraulic and aircraft equipment, is completing the overall reconstruction and modernization of its plating plant in 2001. The plating plant will become one of the most modern surface finish plants in the Czech Republic after the reconstruction. All the project is a part of the renovation of Jihostroj's production equipment, which has been running since the second half of the 1990's. Jihostroj invests several dozens of millions of Czech crowns per year in the renovation to maintain its competitiveness, mainly on foreign markets. Jihostroj has compensated the drop of domestic sales with exports to the demanding markets of the European Union and the US. Reasons for the drop were the problems of domestic consumers in the 1990's. Jihostroj co-operates with Parker Hannifin, important global manufacturer of hydraulic and aircraft equipment. Besides, Jihostroj co-operates with Honeywell, Hytos and Jungheinrich. Jihostroj's selected production processes are periodically audited by Parker Aerospace (US) and meet strict military standards in the US.

Article Abstract:

Zeleznicni stavitelstvi (ZS) (Prague, Czech Republic), construction firm, goes on modernizing the railway line Pardubice-Prelouc in 2000. The total costs on the modernization will amount to CEK 738.8 mil. CEK 45 mil of the sum will be spent on the construction of a road overpass and the relaying of a road in Svitkov. The supplier of the construction of the road overpass, which was commissioned in advance on 06 Oct 2000 compared to the planned term in Dec 2000, is the construction company Dopravni stavby holding (Olomouc, Czech Republic).
