Job shop scheduling with beam search

Article Abstract:

A beam search-based scheduling algorithm was developed to provide solutions to job shop scheduling problems under two schemes, namely the active and nondelay schedule generation schemes. The proposed algorithm employs both makespan and mean tardiness as performance measures. Evaluation of its performance show that the beam search technique is a very competitive and promising tool for providing solutions to job shop scheduling problems.
