Woes to remain at Creative; analysts aren't expecting a speedy recovery
Article Abstract:
Creative Technology Proprietary Ltd is expected to have flat revenues for the first half of 1999. According to its founder and Pres Sim Wong Hoo, the company's fortunes should improve as it introduces new products for the personal digital entertainment (PDE) field. Sim defines PDE sector as that area where the personal computer rather than the television is the center of entertainment. Analysts, however, are skeptical about Creative's ability to replicate the success of its market-leading sound cards and most believe that there may be no upturn in the company's stock for at least a year.

However, Prime Minister Go Chok Tong denied this and said Ong refused to run again because of health problems.
