Article Abstract:
A group named Design Brief Working Group (DBWG) was formed to bring together and examine a range of issues relating to the increased humanization of the healthcare environment. Some of the top priorities were how to communicate to those in a position to make a difference to the value of good design to the healing environment, to the therapeutic recovery of the patient, and the performance of the nursing staff.

It is a common belief today that a pleasant environment is conducive to quicker recovery by the patients and music, art and song can give them an emotional, and psychological lift and distract them from dwelling on their illness. But a practicing nurse believes that all these factors are not as important as the clinical care in helping the patients recover.
