KUM CLEARS FIVE PROJECTS WORTH Rs127.5 CR

Karnataka Udyog Mitra, the state-level single window agency, cleared five projects valued at Rs127.50 crore on March 30, 1999. It cleared the Rs17 crore expansion project of Pepsico India Holdings Ltd, the Rs48.50 crore infrastructure project of Gopalan International Trade Centre, the Rs22 crore automotive plastic parts project of TG Kirloskar Automotive Ltd, the Rs36 crore sugar plant project of Shiva Shakti Sugars Ltd and the Rs5 crore paper and paper board plant project of Safalya Industries Pvt Ltd. The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) is the first Karnataka Government undertaking to acquire the ISO 9001 certification. KIADB is currently setting up a project to promote the light industrial sector at Peenya, 10 kms from Bangalore. The project is spread over 3.5 acres. The project envisages an industrial complex, 100 flats and civic amenities. The complex will be connected by good roads and will have excellent infrastructural facilities. (nr)
