KARUR VYSYA BANK: EFFICIENT BANKING
Article Abstract:
Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) of Karur has 190 branches across India. The bank has benefited from the recent government policy of boosting credit exposure and limiting the deposit mobilisation of non banking finance companies. During the first half of 1997-98, advances are likely to overshoot Rs1300 crore and its non performing assets (NPA) are at 1.20 percent of its total advances. KVB is focusing on automation and hopes to achieve 90 percent automation by early 1999. It has also launched a tele- banking service. KVB expects to maintain a deposit growth of 40 percent in 1998-99. Its scrip is traded at Rs207.
