TATA FIN, AMEX IN TALKS FOR FOREX JV
Article Abstract:
Tata Finance is negotiating with American Express (Amex) to set up a joint venture for foreign exchange services. The joint venture will also include two other Tata group companies - Indian Hotels and Tata International - as partners. The Tata group will hold a 51 percent stake in the joint venture while the stake of Amex will depend on what part of its travel-related services in India it decides to transfer to the venture. Its stake could be as high as 30 percent if it decides to transfer its travel- related foreign exchange business, estimated at $90 million. (khr)

KELTRON PLANS A COMEBACK WITH NEW PRODUCTS

The sick Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (Keltron) proposes to introduce a new range of products. It plans to introduce 1 new product or project every month with its existing resources. It has already introduced a smart micro terminal (SMT). This terminal can be used in units having huge manpower to monitor, control, record and develop reports on the entry as well as movement of people. Keltron hopes to increase its market penetration through SMT. (ag)
