Kuwait gives access to petrochemical plant
Article Abstract:
Buyiyan Petrochemicals Company of Kuwait, a new publci shareholding company, will be floated in March to enable the private sector to have greater accessibility to significant oil and gas industries. The new company will have a stake in a petrochemicals complex currently under construction. Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), a state owned company, and Union Carbide Corporation of the US had entered into a joint venture deal to build the complex.

Mexico puts new curbs on foreigners
Article Abstract:
The government in Mexico is limiting foreign majority ownership of secondary petrochemical plants to three years, to help increase the speed of sales. There had been concerns by small chemical companies that foreign firms could favour exports rather than sales to local industry. Larger petrochemical companies have argued that they require assistance in integrating their industry.

Mexico set for sale of petrochemical plants
Article Abstract:
The sale of Mexico's state-owned secondary petrochemicals industry is to begin with the major restructuring of Pemex Petroquimica, a division of Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex), the state oil monopoly. Non-core business will be sold off and the Cosoleacaque plant will be the first of 61 to be sold off.
