LAV-25 III
Article Abstract:
The LAV-25 III 8x8 armored vehicle, made by the Diesel Div of General Motors of Canada, is based on the Piranha model developed by MOWAG of Switzerland. The LAV-25 is armed with a M242 cannon, a 7.62mm machine gun and a 5.56mm machine gun on the roof. It is powered by a Caterpillar 3126B diesel engine coupled to an Allison MD 3066 P automatic transmission. Standard features of the LAV-25 include a centralized tire-pressure regulation system; power steering; fire-detection and suppression system; NBC protection; air-conditioning; and passive armor.

The Pandur 6x6 armored personnel carrier from Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeug is armed with a 12.7mm machine gun but can also be equipped with other weapon systems, including 25mm or 30mm cannon, or a two-person turret with a 90mm gun. Standard equipment of the Pandur include run-flat tires and centralized tire-pressure regulation system that allows the tire pressure to be adjusted to suit the terrain. Options include NBC protection; air-conditioning; night vision equipment; and a land navigation system.
