Article Abstract:
Airports across the US are investing in communications technology including wireless services to address envisioned future passenger demands. However, there are a bewildering number of choices available because of the competition between existing technologies. Many experts believe that wireless communications services including those for Internet access will be adopted rapidly by the public. Thus, many airports are investing on Internet access-related wireless services along with other state-of-the-art communications facilities.

LAX adds another option to master plan proposals
Article Abstract:
The Los Angeles International Airport plans to build four new runways as an additional option to its master plan. The new option will bring down the airport's capacity by six million passengers compared with other plans but will be less costly. Under the plan, the airport will be able to handle 92 million passengers annually and meet all future cargo requirements until 2015.

New Humphrey terminal for Minneapolis
Article Abstract:
Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport will have a new and bigger terminal in replacement of its Humphrey Terminal. The new terminal, expected to be ready for operations in Mar 2001, will initially include five jet gates, with a potential for 18 or 19 jet gates. The facility, four times the size of Humphrey, will house Sun Country Airlines, charter airlines and origin-and-destination airlines.
