Lighting and electrics
Article Abstract:
The lighting industry is introducing new products in response to changing demand. A number of companies, including Concord, have introduced new types of pendant fitting which suit rooms of double or triple height. Decorative light fittings are becoming increasingly important in interior settings, whilst designers are looking for new effects with colour in exterior settings. Digital technology is improving the efficiency of many lighting products, and some companies are developing products which intensify daylight. Philips has introduced a new, efficient circular fluorescent tube.

Lighting and electrics
Article Abstract:
Lighting sources and light delivery systems are an important but often undervalued part of design technology. There are a wide range of new products on the market, encompassing long-life light-emitting diode technology through to the use of coloured lights to create atmosphere and impact. Interior lighting innovations concentrate on producing suitable lighting in attractive and imaginative ways, while exterior lighting systems require durability, flexibility and impact.

Lighting manufacturers have been competing fiercely to develop many different direct/indirect fixtures in a very wide range of sizes, shapes and finishes.
