Logica profit surges, but stock can't keep up

Logica PLC posted a 65% gain in fiscal first half profit. Pretax profit for the first half ended Dec. 31 surged to #25.6 million ($41.3 million) from #15.5 million a year earlier, while revenue climbed 35% to #292.4 million from #216.3 million. Analysts' expectations of pretax profit ranged from #21.4 million to #23.6 million. Logical shares jumped to 694 pence after the earning report, up 3.1% from Tuesday, but dropped to a close of 660 pence, down 2% on the day.
