Long-awaited award of Argentine airports
Article Abstract:
The Argentine government awarded Aeropuertos Agentina 2000 the concession to run its 33 airports in Jan 1998. Aeropuertos Agentina 2000 paid $171 million per year for the 30-year contract. Infrastructure investments of $2.04 billion must be made under the terms of the contract, with $800 million being spent up to 2003. Plans to merge Aeroparque and Ezeiza International airport will result in a facility which will cater for over 30 million travellers every year.

BZW advises on airports
Article Abstract:
BZW, an investment bank, will advise the Federal Government in Australia on the next phase of the sale of its airports. The government is to sell 50 years leases for Sydney airport, Melbourne's Tullamarine, Perth and Brisbane. The sales of the regional facilities may have to be subsidised. Foreign ownership will be limited to 49%, and owners will also be able to bid for one other airport.
