Looking beyond Korea's bad debt

Korea Asset Management Corp. recently began an effort to expand services. It acquired 4.9 trillion won ($4.2 billion) in face value of distressed consumer loans. It is helping financially troubled companies restructure. It is also advising proving bad debt advise to countries.

The restoration of the Cheonggye stream in Seoul is the result of the efforts of Yan Yoon Jae, a professor and Lee Myung Bak, mayor of the city. The $ 330 million project will restore a 5.8-kilometer stretch of water, in another two years.
